Congratulations to the following volunteers who have helped Spark! in the past year and received volunteer appreciation certificates at our annual meeting and anniversary party:
Congratulations and thank you for your help and continued support at Spark!
Volunteer Activities Specialist – Alexandra Pettibon
Alex is a volunteer at Spark! because she likes to give back to the community and it gives her something fun to do. She enjoys playing the Wii, air hockey and UNO. She also loves to write stories and has 3 dogs, 1 bunny, and 7 cats!
Volunteer Activities Specialist – Barbara Klocek
Barbara Klocek is a retired teacher from Brookdale Community College in New Jersey. There she taught reading skills and study skills classes to students with learning disabilities. She also tutored students one-on-one in numerous subjects and taught the Wilson Reading Method for Dyslexics to adults. After retiring, Barbara was a substitute teacher in her town in New Jersey. She primarily worked in the 6th grade autistic class, with the special needs preschool, or as an aid to special needs students. Earlier, she ran the Cub Scout Pack at the International School of Amsterdam and was an analyst in venture capital. Barbara has a B.S. in Psychology and an M.B.A. in finance.
We are looking for fun, creative and enthusiastic volunteers who are passionate about helping adults with special needs reach their goals and maximize their full potential while enhancing their social inclusion and integration into the community. You can make a big difference in someone’s life! You can be the key to lighting someone’s spark!
